Written by: Rebecca Yarros
Genre: Page count:
Adult Fantasy Fiction 623 pages (69 chapters)
Characters I like:
General Sorrengail - I appreciated and understood everything she was trying to accomplish including the means she intended to do so.
Characters I hate:
Catrina - for a while there we were not going to be friends, but I think we are good now.
Reflection:
This book is a whirlwind of movement and emotion and on the occasion sex. We follow Sorrengail girl with many names (Violence, Silver one, Vi, Violet), for those of us who recall her from the Fourth wing series can be proud that she is not diminished in this continuation of the series, and what a continuation! It is woven together very well and keeps you speculating until the end. The good news is that you get so many answers that you want, the bad news is that this often leads into a spiderweb of new questions. The best part of Rebecca Yarros writing, aside from the fact that it is genuinely pleasant to read, is that she is a master of foreshadowing. Everything that you need to know to seethe destination that the plot is taking you to you learn as you read. However, even with it you will still cling onto your dragons scales as she pulls you into another direction. An enjoyable read to say the least. A beautifully written fantasy to say the most.
